Yoga for women is practice shaped around a woman's body, energy and seasons of life, from your twenties through your fifties and beyond. At Anand Yoga Centre in Kolathur, north Chennai, every batch is small and women-first, led by founder Sailaja Anand. You move at your own pace in a calm room with other ladies, with breath, strength and stillness in equal measure. First class is ₹199.

Why a women-first space helps

A room that is built around women changes how comfortable practice feels.

You set the pace

Small batches mean Sailaja can watch your alignment and adjust each pose to your body, so you are never pushed past what feels right on the day.

Every stage is welcome

Whether you are new to movement, returning after a break, or practising through your forties and fifties, the class meets you where you are today.

A calm, private room

Women-only batches make many ladies feel freer to breathe, rest and try new poses without self-consciousness.

Led by a woman

Sailaja Anand teaches from her own years of practice, so guidance comes with lived understanding of how a woman's body moves and changes.

Questions

Yoga for Women: common questions

Is Anand Yoga Centre only for women?
Our batches are women-first and designed around a woman's comfort, so most of our students are ladies. This makes the room calm and judgement-free. If you would like to join, message us on WhatsApp at +91 86101 62435 and we will guide you to the right batch.
Where in Chennai are your women's yoga classes?
We are in Kolathur, north Chennai, easily reached from Villivakkam, Ayanavaram, Mogappair and Anna Nagar. It is a single studio location, so the space stays small, personal and women-first rather than a large impersonal chain.
I am over 40 and have never done yoga. Can I start?
Yes. Many of our students begin in their forties and fifties with no prior experience. Sailaja keeps beginner batches gentle and adjusts each pose to your body, so you build strength and flexibility gradually and safely at your own pace.
What does it cost to try a women's yoga class?
Your first class is ₹199, so you can experience the studio before deciding. After that, unlimited monthly classes are ₹2,000. There is no free trial, but the first-class fee keeps it accessible while keeping our small batches genuinely committed.
What should a woman wear and bring to the first class?
Wear comfortable clothing you can stretch and breathe in, and bring water. Mats are available at the studio. Arrive a few minutes early so Sailaja can understand any health considerations and place you comfortably in the batch.
